GORCO can collaborate with the customer in studying problems, as well as designing and supplying equipment for explosive atmospheres, both new facilities and improvement and modification of existing ones.
This way, the final systems will always be in accordance with the ATEX directive.
Explosive materials
Sometimes, seemingly normal materials can be explosive under certain conditions. The danger of the possible explosive behaviour of materials not appearing on this list can be consulted with us.
Manufacturer obligations, Directive 2014/34/EU
- To perform an analysis to determine if your product is subject to Directive 2014/34/EU and what requirements of it apply to you.
- Design and manufacture a product in accordance with the Essential Health and Safety Requirements (RESS).
- Follow the Conformity Assessment procedures established in the Directive; prepare the Declaration of Conformity and CE marking.
Company obligations, Directive 99/92/EC
- Carry out an explosion risk assessment (article 4).
- Classify the areas in which explosive atmospheres may form (article 7).
- Explosion prevention and protection measures against them (article 3). Including:
- Preventing the formation of explosive atmospheres; when this is not possible:
- Prevent ignition of explosive atmospheres,
- Mitigate the effects of any explosion.
- Provide a safe working environment (article 5).
- Coordination obligations (article 6).
- Prepare and update the Explosion Protection Document (article 8).
