Cyclone separators are the oldest dust collection or separation devices. They are currently used for problems with relatively coarse dust, or as a pre-separation before a more effective one, such as a bag filter. Cyclone separators can sometimes also be used as spark arrestors in front of a bag filter.
In cyclone separators, the dust is collected by inertia. The air and product enter tangentially from the top; the thicker powder is projected by centrifugal force towards the walls and falls into the hopper without going up through the plunger tube at an angle towards the atmosphere.
It is usually difficult to guarantee emissions in a cyclone separator or group, because efficiency curves are always experimental under certain test conditions, and cannot usually be directly transferred to a new case.
Only experience with similar problems can design suitable equipment in reasonable working order.
GORCO can offer a range of cyclone separators or groups for the applications that require it.
